in that section near glacier peak between skykomish and stehekin we walked through meadows packed with marmots, marmot holes and lupins; between snowcapped dark craggy mountains, by frozen lakes; and up and down a lot of switchbacks with the occasional mudslide.





not long after we started one of out biggest climbs, there was just this random sign up on a tree. in the middle of the bush. nowhere near anything. with no explanation...












headbanger, wiz, buttercup, daybreaker and i camped near mica creek below frozen mica lake one night... that mess is where i slept, under amazing stars and those towering mountains...
